Thanksgiving day is a wonderful/ hectic thing. There is family gathering around the large marble table, while dad is cutting the warm, tender turkey with his favorite black cutting knife. Mom is adding butter to the sweet corn and grandma is adding salt and pepper to the smooth mashed potatoes. There are young boys and girls running around around playing tag anlike wild animals playing in the jungle. As more people arrive, hugs are being given out ot everyone.
As everything is still being made squealing kids are like alarm clocks in my ears. There is football playing on the television with dads talking about work and cheering for Georgia. Mothers are chatting about their kids and the houses. There is low conversation between the teenagers talking about school, clothes, and sports.
I can't wait to finally sit down on the soft comfy tan couch. When we eat dinner we will be seated on hardwood chairs with manilla cushions. The little forks and butter knifes against the white napkins. The drooly dog slober on your leg. The sizzling hot frying pan pavement going out to the car burnt the skin off my feet.
You could taste the warm honey roasted turkey, the cajun green beans, and the smooth salty mashed potatoes. There was sweet corn and chocolate cake baking. The chocolate cake baking was grandmas famous recipe yumm.
You can smell the warm turkey, along witht he other steaming food. Thee was the smell of mixed perfumes and cologne. You could also smell all 7 animals covered up with febreeze. This is one of my favorite holidays! well i cant wait until November when Thanksgiving rolls around again!
